Over 100,000 of the prisoners died out of the 600,000 captured after the battle at Bataan. This number does not include the prisoners that died in the labor camps. The Japanese won the battle at Bataan, and punished American and Filipino soldiers mercilessly by all types of torture. This battle was the biggest surrender in American history.
